Connect Alto FX to ChatGPT
Alto FX is a free connector that adds specialist corporate FX management capabilities to ChatGPT.
It allows finance teams to use their AI as the interface to improve visibility, control and decision-making across their FX activity.
Alto FX can currently be connected to ChatGPT using a custom MCP server. A public Alto FX plugin has also been submitted for the ChatGPT plugin directory.
Once the public plugin is approved, this page will remain useful but the primary homepage button can later be changed to link directly to the public plugin directory listing.
Connect using a custom app
The available controls can differ between workspaces. These steps describe the supported custom MCP connection flow and do not assume that every ChatGPT plan or workspace has the same access.
- Open ChatGPT on the web in the relevant workspace. Availability and permissions depend on your workspace plan and settings.
- In Workspace Settings, open Apps and choose Create. If prompted, enable Developer Mode. An administrator or workspace owner may be required, depending on the workspace.
- Create a custom app named Alto FX and set its MCP endpoint to the server URL below. Choose OAuth authentication. No additional credentials need to be created on this page.
- Continue through Alto FX sign-in. Sign in with your existing Alto account, or register if you do not have an account, then review and approve the consent request to return to ChatGPT.
- The app may initially appear under Apps, Drafts or Dev for administrator testing. The exact label can vary by workspace.
- Start a new conversation. Open Apps or Tools, select Alto FX and complete account authentication if prompted for your individual account.
